Nicole Nelson

Nicole, whose dance experience lies primarily in hip-hop and musical theatre, is a great addition to the Monona Academy of Dance staff. She has been training intensively in hip-hop for 5 years, as she did not grow up attending a dance studio. Rather, she gained experience in movement and dance through movement theater and musical theater.

Nicole teachs all the Hip Hop classes for Monona Academy of Dance and works wonderfully with students of all age groups. While she loves her teenage students, she also finds complete joy with younger students and their honest and natural willingness to move. She believes dance is a beautiful and authentic mode of expression and can be used as a way to build confidence, express emotion, and connect with oneself and others. She hopes she can empower young dancers to learn more about themselves as well as create a safe and warm environment for them to explore movement confidently.
